Happy Birthday, Nate!

We have had such a fun weekend!

Friday was Nathan's 3rd birthday.
I found a new recipe for peanut butter cupcakes and thought I'd give it a go: They were so yummy, and fun to make! I think they look cute, even with Valentine & Halloween cupcake papers!

We put candles in Nate's french toast at breakfast.
**Word to the wise: Don't put candles into HOT food...or you will have waxy french toast for your birthday!!**
We met Nathan's birthmother, Mandi at the zoo!
Mandi brought her daughter, Aunaleah too!
This was the first time Nate & Auna got to meet one another.
And it was so good to finally see Mandi again!

Nathan got to pet the goats at the zoo. He is fairly nervous around most animals, so I was pretty proud of him.

And the cute birthday crown?

He got that in Nursery (at church), and has worn it faithfully all week in anticipation of this special day!
He wore it the entire time we are at the zoo.
Auna couldn't get enough of Eli. She loves babies!

Blowing out his candles.
We re-lit the candles and sang a 2nd time for him.
He wanted us to sing again, but we figured twice was enough, and just let him blow out the candles a few more times.

Auna also helped Nate open his presents.

Mandi got Nate more tracks for his Thomas the Train set!! He was so excited!

On Saturday we went to the splash park.

This was the 3rd time Nate had been to the splash park this summer, and it seems that every time he goes, he gets more and more brave!
He went down the water slides over and over.

Such a brave boy!
He was having a blast.
Even sliding down on his belly!

Auna loved having the water on her feet...she wasn't so sure about having it in her face.

Eating a banana.

While we were at the splash park, my birthmother, Lori called and invited us all to dinner at her house. We had fun visiting and eating good food with good friends.

I will always love Mandi.

She is the reason I am a mother today.

I have so much gratitude for her great sacrifice and friendship.
Such beautiful people.

It doesn't get any better than this.

We love you Mandi. We love you Auna.

We are so happy to have you in our lives!

We hope this visit was as much fun for you as it was for us! We are so proud of you and hope to see you again soon!
Much love.

Hugs.
